Catching up: August 2011

Hi to everybody who hasn`t forgotten about my blog yet!

Mummy `s neglected writing my blog stories recently, but now she`s doing her best to catch up a little bit.

First of all I`d like to share some data about me: my height is 95 cm and I weigh 15.5 kilos. I have 16 teeth, but there are 2 more coming out at the moment. I`m never ill; actually I cannot remember the time when I was ill for the last time. I`ll start nursery school soon, I think. I don`t need a nappy since April, I`m completely toilet-trained. I can walk up and down the stairs alone and jump on the bed without falling down.

My eating habits (likes and dislikes) change constantly: at the moment I don`t like peas, consequently I won`t eat them! (Sorry Mum!)

I also hate when there is a label in my clothes, so before putting anything on I thorougly check if there is something which needs to be cut off, otherwise it`d irritate my sensitive skin and I`d start my `hiszti`. :-)
Poor Mummy! Sometimes I can drive her crazy with my behaviour. Actually all these things are `nice` characteristic features of my age! Anyway, Mummy can handle me quite well, although sometimes she can hardly wait till I fall asleep and she can have some rest. In the afternoon I sleep 1.5-3 hours; in the evening I`m in bed at 9 and sleep until 7 in the morning. When I`m in bed and I`m about falling asleep, I still suck my right thumb.

Well, these were some facts about me in August 2011. Oh, I nearly forgot my language skills. I communicate with Mummy in Hungarian, although we regularly have English `lessons`. In various situations she talks to me in English. I often watch my DVDs in English. I talk to Daddy in Dutch. Sometimes I mix these 3 languages in a sentence, but it sounds extremely cute.
Now let me show you some photos about the activities I spend my time with nowadays.

I like going to the Balaton to our summer cottage and swim in the lake.

I enjoy skyping with Oma Beppie at weekends. I even give her a kiss through the monitor.

I love sitting on the coffee table in the living room and playing with puzzles, cards and skill developing toys like the one below.

When I do something properly, my Mum is so proud of me.

I also like playing with my laptop. I`m not addicted to it yet! Let`s say once or twice a week I spend 20 min behind the monitor. Actually it`s quite educational. (letters, numbers, animals, sounds, simple computer games...) I use both my hands, nose and toes to push the right buttons. I`m quite inventive, aren`t I?

I often draw on my drawing board.

I still like books; I`m often told nice stories in 3 languages.
I love going somewhere with my parents where there is a child-friendly program. Last weekend we had the Flextronics Family Day where I had a great time. (Album on Facebook!)

Next weekend we plan to travel to Kecskemét to the Zoo.

My weekend in our summer cottage

Hi, Welcome to our blog again. :-)

Hmmm! Do you know where we spent the long weekend? In our summer cottage in Balatonszabadi-Sóstó, close to Siófok.

So now I`ll tell you about my weekend at Lake Balaton where I spent 2 nice days with my parents, brothers and Bicske Mama.

As nice, dry and sunny

weather was predicted for the weekend, we decided to check our plot close to the Hungarian Sea.

We drove to Balatonszabadi-Sóstó on Saturday morning. The plan was to cut the grass, do some gardening, buy the floor tiles for the back terrace and fix the wooden bars there.

It was fun to arrive at a new place. I checked the house quickly, then I played with my brothers.

Grandma had already prepared some delicious dishes previously, so we only had to make them warm and we could have lunch.

My appetite was fantastic. After the chicken stew I could still eat some bites of pancake. By the way, I`m getting more and more skillful at eating with a spoon.
After lunch Daddy quickly cut the grass. While I was in bed upstairs, Roland was riding a retro bike, Krisz was checking his game in the Internet and Mummy was doing Krisztián`s homework in literature. :-)

Then I woke up; I was ready to eat, play and to be cuddled. :-)

After buying some things in the OBI in Siófok, we had dinner, then we decided to go for a walk.

Before going to bed I played with Daddy. We had to catch up after not having seen enough of each other on weekdays. Anyway, I could sleep very well in our cottage.

On Sunday the bars had to be fixed on the terrace.

While everybody was working, I was playing around. I collected pebbles, snail houses, pinecones and feathers in my bucket. Somebody always turned up to give me a huggie and a kiss on my face. :-)

After seeing everybody working, you know what I did??? I removed the screw from the see-saw and replaced it with a pine prickle.

Mummy brought some books here, so I could also read.

On Sunday my appetite was even bigger. Staying in the fresh air all day long made me hungry all the time.

I felt good being a little bit dirty... sitting on the muddy terrace floor... eating a piece of cake with my dirty hands... Oh, it was so nice for a change!

I didn`t really want to go home, but we had to. On the way home I was shown the lake. It was so beautiful!

I`m looking forward to coming back here. Daddy, Mummy and Grandma will improve the house a little bit and then I will show it to You, OK?

I was a good girl in the car. When we got home, Mummy made me some soup which I loved to finish like this. :-) Then I ate a pancake which we got from the neighbour.

On Monday we were at home. Mummy cooked a lot, baked a cake, my brothers learnt and played mainly upstairs, Daddy did some gardening, painted his homemade wooden chair and played with me a lot.

Well, that was my story about the long weekend. Did you also have a great time?

Anyway, time flies, the next weekend is here soon... The weather in Hungary is very warm now.
